Frequently asked questions

Who is the course for?

Time to Write is for anybody who struggles to make time for and prioritise their writing.

The course teaches you about the four most popular methods writers use to manage time and helps you consider whether your own approach is working for you - however much writing experience you have.

Time to Write is not prescriptive. We don’t tell you that one approach is ‘the best’ way. The programme helps you find an approach that works for you and your life.

How the course is structured and delivered?

Time to Write is a self-paced online course comprised of 22 lessons – 11 of which are video tutorials.

It has seven sections in total and one section is made available every day. You will be notified by email when a section is available.

Each section has a number of lessons which you can complete as fast as you wish.

I’m busy! Will it take a lot of time?

If you're interested in this course, we know you're pretty busy which is why we've taken great care to design a programme that is very 'light touch' in terms of what you have to learn.

The course is primarily about coaching and reflection and while it does contain a number of short exercises and reflection tasks to complete - these won't take long.

Do I need to complete the course over seven days?

We have designed the course to be completed over seven days - one day at a time - but you don't need to follow this structure if it doesn't work for you.

The only thing we do ask is for you to download and complete a time tracker over the duration of the programme. This will help you identify how much time you have for writing and we'll return to it on day seven.

I'm just looking for some ideas an inspiration - will your course help?

Not really. The course is primarily about helping you find time for your writing in your life - not to help with ideas generation.

I’m a first-time writer, will the course help me?

Yes. Very often we put off starting because we believe we have to write in a certain way (like write daily or in long chunks of time).

This course will help you think through some of your assumptions and find a way-in to writing that works for you. Join us!

Can I get a refund if it doesn’t work for me?

Of course. If you're not 100% happy with the course we will refund you in full at any stage.

Do I need to have any special equipment?

Nope. Although it might be handy to have a notebook/laptop/phone to note things down as you go. Also, plenty of coffee and biscuits might help the writing flow a little easier if you're into that kind of thing :)
